California native Jillian Rose Banks, most well-known by her pseudonym Banks, recently made a stop at the Hollywood Palladium: the third to last North American date on the Serpentina Tour before heading to Europe next month.
Banks, who recently dropped her fourth studio album, Serpentina, performed to quite the rambunctious audience who crowded the venue many minutes prior to the set start time, additionally catching a set from Lauren Jauregui, the supporting act most well-known for her work in the girl group Fifth Harmony.
Banks glided effortlessly through her discography, mainly highlighting songs from her 2022 release, including “The Devil,” “Skinnydipped,” and “Holding Back.” Though the majority of the set paid homage to Serpentina, Banks didn’t forget to show love to older songs from her catalog, including “Gemini Feed,” “Fuck With Myself,” and “Beggin For Thread.” I personally was hoping to hear “Crowded Places,” a (presumingly) lesser-known track that Banks wrote with Tim Anderson and Jack Antonoff (who also produced it) for the series finale episode of the HBO show Girls.
