New Music Sunday – 12/17/2017

Lesson 2.8-5

Sorry for the late post! I had a busy weekend. I’ll keep it short and sweet and to the point this week. Enjoy!

“Daylight Confidant” – Illyin Pipes
Release Date – December 1

This band’s second single since July and I’m loving the dreaminess of it. I’m going to be sure to keep an eye out for them.

“Never Be The Same” – Camila Cabello
Release Date – December 7

Wasn’t a fan of Havana and didn’t have too much interest in hearing anything else from Camila, but she definitely proved me wrong. I love this song and I think lyrically, it sounds like a Taylor Swift song. Obviously that’s why I love it.

“VANDERLIGHT” – Stop Light Observations
Release Date – December 8

I featured another song by them last week, but I think I like this one more. Pay attention to the lyrics!

“My Obsession” – Pale Waves
Release Date – December 12

Pale Waves continues to deliver great songs one after another. Looking forward to their debut album! Click here to read a piece I wrote on them for Ones to Watch.

“BOOGIE” – BROCKHAMPTON

Release Date – December 15

I am blown away with this opening track from Saturation III. And we know that I don’t love rap music.

“Backseat” – Charli XCX ft. Carly Rae Jepsen
Release Date – December 15

The collaboration I never knew I needed. Enough said.

“There Are Many Ways To Say I Love You” – Sylvan Esso
Release Date: December 15

Guys, this is a cover of a Mr. Rogers song. I legitimately though it was their own song. I love it!

“Only Love” – Wafia
Release Date – December 15

A great addition to the growing genre of female indie pop music. I definitely will be taking the time to hear more music from her!

“I Don’t Want U Back” – Børns
Release Date – December 15
I’ve been waiting to hear new music from him (wasn’t loving the single he released earlier this year) but I’m loving this one!

“Reckless Lover” – Handsome Ghost
Release Date – December 15

A more laid back sound from Handsome Ghost, who tends to have electronic infused music. Super sad but a great tune.

“Tonya Harding (In D Major)” – Sufjan Stevens
Release Date – December 7

Took me too long to hear this song! I’m obsessed with it and it just makes me want to see the new Tonya film even more. Sufjan rarely does anything I dislike.
