Get Your Dancing Shoes On For Beau’s Electrifying First Single In Four Years – “Dance With Me”

You ever have those moments where you’re out with your friends and doing something carefree and lighthearted and just for that singular moment, you’re having an out of body experience, forgetting everything that holds you down and keeps you worried? While the “out with your friends” aspect may not be as relevant, due to the fact that lots of bars are not open at the moment, I’m sure you can still reminisce on how the world was pre-pandemic.

Beau, the New York born and bred, musical duo, comprised of Heather Goldin and Emma Jenney, know this feeling all too well. Their first single in five years, “Dance With Me,” was written before the disruption of COVID-19 as a “love letter to NYC nightlife,” recorded at the iconic Electric Lady Studios (where Chicago Haze favorites like Lorde, Taylor Swift, at St. Vincent—to name a few—have recorded in the past).

Since the release of That Thing Reality, Beau has signed to HeavyRoc Music (Sofi Tukker, Blu DeTiger, St Lucia, and The Knocks and more). The new single arrives as Beau’s first single in four years following the success of their debut album, That Thing Reality, an album that resulted in critics comparing the duo to Lana Del Rey and “a pair of Stevie Nicks.”

“Dance With Me” is a mid-tempo melodic dreamscape that sounds like it belongs in a romantic comedy set in a big city. Choppy verses build to a bigger and bolder chorus, leading to a psychedelic bridge with whispery notes and echoing notes that blossom into the much louder returning chorus.

While some of life’s greatest pleasures are on hold at the moment—and may be forever changed—the simple sentiment of sharing a song or two with someone you love will hopefully always be accessible (even if it has to take place over Zoom).
