Indie-pop star girl in red has invited fans into her internal monologue on her new track “Serotonin.”
“Serotonin,” released today, is the third single from her debut album if i could make it go quiet, out April 30. The track is a candid look at mental illness, with references to intrusive thoughts and medication ruminating over a stomping drum beat and vocals.
The Norweigan singer, real name Marie Ulven, rose to prominence in 2018 with her single “I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend.” girl in red’s music has thrived in both the bedroom pop and queer music scene, with Ulven being named a “queer icon” by Paper.
The song was co-produced by FINNEAS, known as the brother and chief musical collaborator of pop giant Billie Eilish.
