spill tab x Tommy Genesis’ new track “Indecisive” Takes Bedroom Pop To The Next Level

One of Staged Haze’s 2021 Artists to Watch, spill tab, is back with a banger of a new single in “Indecisive,” featuring Canadian rapper Tommy Genesis.

“Indecisive” follows the success of spill tab’s 2020 debut EP Oatmilk and singles “PISTOLWHIP” and “Anybody Else,” which both dropped earlier this year. Singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and producer Claire Chicha has continued to find success through releasing music independently, sung in English and French, and packaged perfectly as lo-fi bedroom pop.

“Indecisive” is a natural progression for spill tab, though it takes the artist to the next level with a feature from Tommy Genesis: making for a more aggressive, in-your-face musical experience compared to the music she released thus far. Earlier singles call to artists adjacent to spill tab’s genre: ones like Maggie Rogers and Jordana, whereas the new song brings more hip hop elements and glittery production: reminiscent of artists like Sylvan Esso and K. Flay.

Chicha’s unique childhood experience has certainly shaped her creative process: raised by French and Korean parents, Chicha lived in Bangkok, Thailand as a young teenager, eventually discovering EDM through the city’s party scene. She later moved to Paris, where she was able to learn how to sing in French, taking on an “alter ego” of sorts.

Earlier this year, spill tab was chosen as Vevo’s DSCVR Artists to Watch 2021. You can check out a killer performance of “PISTOLWHIP” here.

“Indecisive” is out now.
