Paramore captivated San Francisco’s Chase Center on Monday, August 7th. The venue was filled with anticipation as the lights dimmed and the unmistakable silhouette of Hayley Williams, the lead vocalist, emerged on stage. The roar of the crowd was deafening as the band launched into their opening number, “You First,” setting the tone for an unforgettable night.
From the first note, Paramore’s energy was contagious, resonating throughout the arena. Their setlist was carefully crafted to include classic hits and tracks from their latest album, This Is Why, showcasing their evolution as a band while staying true to their signature sound. Songs like “Ain’t It Fun,” “Hard Times,” and “Decode,” had the crowd singing along at the top of their lungs.

Hayley Williams effortlessly hit every high note, infusing the performance with raw emotion. Despite being sick with a lung infection, she gave the crowd an incredible performance, and her interactions with the audience felt genuine and heartfelt. The band had undeniable chemistry, with longtime members, guitarist Taylor York, drummer Zac Farro, and newer members Brian Robert Jones on guitar, Joey Howard on bass, Logan MacKenzie on keys & guitar, and Joey Mullen on percussion. The synchronization between band members was a testament to their years of experience, ensuring a seamless show.
Paramore’s stage production was unmatched with dynamic lighting and vibrant visuals that complemented the music’s emotional depth. The use of pyrotechnics and confetti cannons during certain high-energy moments heightened the concert’s intensity, leaving the audience in awe.

The band has been known to bring fans on stage during the song “Misery Business,” which has become a staple of their sets, as well as a crowd favorite. This time, the band brought out an unexpected guest, Stephen Curry. As soon as he took the stage, the crowd cheered in disbelief. Hayley described the band’s relationship with the NBA star and San Fran icon, who was a longtime fan, stating it was only right that he performed the duet with her that night.
As the show was coming to an end and the band returned to the stage for their encore, they performed “Still Into You,” and “This Is Why,” which had their fans wishing the night would never end. Leaving the Chase Center, it was clear that Paramore had not only put on a concert, but had crafted an experience that would linger in the memories of all who attended. With their passionate performance and undeniable charisma, Paramore solidified their status as one of the most talented and impactful bands of our time.
