Zoe Ko Tells the Haters off in New Single “Kiss My (Ah)”

Sometimes it feels great to tell someone off, and express exactly how you feel — Zoe Ko does just that in her new single, “Kiss My (Ah),” in which she tells anyone that doesn’t like her to kiss her ass, in a slightly more subtle way.

Ko’s new single dropped today, and “Kiss My (Ah)” is yet another infectiously fun
single release for the singer this year, following the gritty and energetic “DIRT.” The prior single serves as the singer’s tribute to her hometown, New York City, and was released in March. The singles follow up Ko’s debut EP Baby Teeth, which was released last fall. Ko has a perfectly sweet voice, which pairs well in opposition with the song’s sassy lyrics. The song is permeated with supreme confidence, especially in the bridge where Ko sings “I said if you don’t like me baby, then pucker up and kiss my ah,” reminiscent of Britney Spears’ “Blackout” era.

At only two minutes and 18 seconds long, “Kiss My (Ah)” gets its cheeky message out quickly and succinctly, but doesn’t feel too rushed. It’s a perfect quick party song with a simple but endlessly relatable message: screw the haters. Ko is currently wrapping up her tour dates opening for indie pop singer UPSAHL, including a show in Phoenix tonight, and a Sept. 16 show in Fort Worth.

Kiss My (Ah)” is available now on all streaming platforms.
