French electronic duo, Justice, delivered their most ambitious U.S. show to date at the iconic Hollywood Bowl this past Friday, October 4th. Their sold-out show comes on the heels of a successful first leg of their “Justice Live” U.S. tour, and the release of their new album, Hyperdrama, which has garnered widespread praise, and features collaborations with high-profile artists such as, Tame Impala, Miguel, and Thundercat.
The night began with Thundercat, whose set was relaxed, yet engaging, as he moved through hits like “Them Changes” and “Dragonball Durag.” His jazzy bass lines and smooth vocals warmed up the audience and built excitement for the main event. As Justice took the stage, the atmosphere shifted dramatically. The setlist moved seamlessly from the iconic opener “Genesis” into “Phantom” and the Soulwax Remix of “Phantom Pt. II,” setting the tone for a night that would span their entire discography, including fan-favorites and deep cuts.

Justice’s stage production was as much a part of the show as the music itself. A massive cross-shaped lighting rig dominated the stage, casting beams of light that moved in sync with the thumping bass lines. The production was especially captivating during heavier moments like “Stress” and “Afterimage (Justice Remix).” The combination of sound and visuals left a lasting impression, and the Hollywood Bowl’s natural acoustics added an extra layer of richness to the live performance.

The duo’s mix of tracks kept the energy fluctuating throughout the night, with unexpected transitions like “Alakazam!” blending into the euphoric singalong “We Are Your Friends,” and a megamix of “D.A.N.C.E.” keeping the crowd on their toes. During the encore, Justice even paid homage to Jay-Z’s “Onto The Next One,” which famously sampled their own “D.A.N.C.E.” The incorporation of that track into their live mix felt like a full-circle moment, acknowledging their impact on the broader music scene, far beyond the realm of electronic music.
Justice closed out their Hollywood Bowl set in spectacular fashion, teaming up with Thundercat for a live rendition of “The End,” the final track from Hyperdrama. The energy in the Bowl was electric, and their collaboration felt like the perfect finish to an unforgettable evening. Justice proved they are still at the forefront of live electronic music, leaving fans eager for what’s to come next.
