Summer might be behind us, but festival season isn’t finished yet. All Things Go—affectionately nicknamed “Gaychella”, has grown from a one-day gathering in Columbia, Maryland back in 2014 into one of the most buzzed-about indie-leaning festivals in North America. We last covered it in 2021, where artists like Charli xcx, Role Model, Del Water Gap, and others performed, and the expansion since then has been striking. What started at Merriweather Post Pavilion now sprawls across three cities, with this weekend’s shows split between the Maryland flagship and Forest Hills in Brooklyn, and a two-day Toronto edition during the first weekend of October.
We’ve been listening to every artist on the lineup, packing rain jackets (it’s definitely going to rain), and getting so, so excited. It feels like the perfect way to kick off the fall, and we’re ready for a weekend that promises standout sets, surprise moments, and plenty of opportunities to danc e (aka feel the rain on your skin). Here are five things to know, and be ready for, before the music starts.
- How to get there. It sounds basic, but getting to Merriweather Post Pavilion can be a challenge. If you’re driving, buy a parking pass in advance and plan to arrive early—lots fill up fast. Prefer transit? Take the MARC Camden Line from Union Station to Laurel Station, then grab a short rideshare to the venue. Either way, build in extra time, especially with rain in the forecast.
- No set-time stress. One of All Things Go’s best quirks is that sets don’t overlap. You can catch every act without sprinting across the grounds, so plan your day around food and merch breaks instead of stage conflicts.
- See MICHELLE while you can. Word is MICHELLE might be calling it quits soon, so this could be one of the last times to catch their dreamy harmonies live. If that rumor is true, you’ll want to say you were there.
- Fresh albums everywhere. Djo, Lola Young, G Flip, The Beaches, The Aces—just to name a few—are all coming in hot with brand-new albums or fresh singles, and they’re bound to pull out some surprises. Expect plenty of first-live performances and maybe even songs we haven’t heard yet.
- Festival survival kit. Think rain boots or waterproof sneakers, a portable phone charger, and cash for quick merch buys. Hydrate, pace yourself, and leave extra time for security lines so you can stay focused on the music. And if you can’t make it—or just want to relive the highlights—Amazon Prime will be streaming performances all weekend, so no FOMO required.
Javi’s Most Anticipated Sets:
I know, I know, Role Model is simply the hottest thing this summer so no surprises here, but I have watched Tucker go from Soundcloud RAPPER to TikTok heartthrob in real time in the last few years, and finally getting to see him bloom has been one of my favorite things to witness. I have actually seen a couple times this year already, but I am always excited to see him have fun on a stage.
I definitely also have a soft spot for indie duo hey, nothing, but it’s because they’re genuinely an act that I could watch live forever. Harlow Phillips and Tyler Marby’s charisma and crowd control are out of this world, and I have no doubts that their set will be one of the funnest of the weekend so I can’t wait to catch them on Saturday.
And lastly, is there anything left for me to say about Djo? He’s for sure been my artist of this year, and now he has a whole new album to add to his repertoire with the release of The Crux Deluxe, so we might get a brand new festival set this time around. I just feel so blessed to get to see him one more time this year.
Jesse’s Most Anticipated Sets:
Rachel Chinouriri is one I’m really anticipating—I was supposed to catch her opening for Remi Wolf last year before she had to pull out, so this feels extra satisfying. She’s supported big names like Lewis Capaldi, Louis Tomlinson, and Sabrina Carpenter, and I can’t wait to finally hear “All I Ever Asked” live.
The Last Dinner Party’s theatrical, high-drama sets have been the talk of the indie scene all year, so they’re a no-brainer (and an all-female rock band from London is my bread and butter).
Then at the top of my list there’s Lola Young, whose brand-new album I’m Only F**king Myself dropped just this past Friday and already has me fully obsessed. I predict she’ll pull one of the weekend’s biggest crowds when she performs on the third day.
